IN this talk we'll cover using Git for Open Source development in general and Drupal development in particular. We will cover high level version control concepts as well as practical examples of the most widely needed Drupal use cases, ranging depending on audience level, from setting up Git and using for code collaboration and project development to advanced site deployment for continuous integration and highly collaborative complex branching and merging.
Time permitting we may even explore the ramifications of Git not being originally intended for web development, and how this has necessarily led to overly complex workarounds and workflow hacks to bend Git to the will of the World Wide Web.
I've listed this under the coding track, however site-builders are encouraged to attend, as there will be a lot of extremely valuable information about workflow in Drupal, and we'll push off any excruciatingly technical examples towards the end.
