As some of you know, Session Submission has been open since our official site launch just a few weeks ago.
It's time now to get a basic timeline outlined on session submission, and our goals for sessions for DrupalCampNH 2011.
Session Submission
Session Submission is open, and if you have a topic you'd like to present, please get it posted!! Keep in mind that Drupal is about community, and for any of you that may think something like "I'm not good enough at XXXX to present anything...", you are totally wrong!! Not every session (even at DrupalCons) are given by the "experts" in the field. It takes ALL of us to make up a community, and sometimes that perspective given on a topic by someone that has only used Drupal for a short time is a HUGE benefit to others. We've seen in person the challenges of those "bright minds" trying to explain sometimes the simplest task to a group of new Drupalers, and it can be quite a funny sight!!
So, please contribute and get your session submitted!!
Session Submission Deadline / Session Voting
Session voting will begin on September 1st, 2011, and session submission will end on September 29th (one month prior to camp). You will be able to "vote" for things by adding them to your schedule, which will let us know the sessions with the most interest, and help in placing sessions in a logical manner time-wise, and ensure we have a good flow of sessions throughout the day for all users.
We are using a simple flag model in our voting scheme, and will not be doing any 5 star type ratings, as the standard +1 style vote is simpler to determine rather than an algorithm that weights the average rating and the number of total votes. So simply by voting FOR a session, by adding it to your list of "sessions I'd like to see", we can make a decent determination of what sessions will make the final schedule.
Voting Closed / Official Schedule
Our goal is to allow session voting through the 1st of October, and have an official schedule up around the 5th of October at the latest.
Number of Sessions
In the current setup, we have 6 rooms available to us. The Walker Auditorium will house our "Featured Speakers" and our Keynote by Jeff Robbins. We have 4 classrooms set aside for user submitted sessions for a total of 24 user submitted sessions, and our last room will likely be an all day training (in 2 or 3 parts). If we have a huge influx of user submitted sessions that warrant adding an additional classroom to accomodate another 6 sessions, then we will make that determination with SNHU.
This really is a guideline on our session submission and voting/scheduling process, and it will evolve as the camp gets closer.
However, don't wait to submit until the last minute, as the sooner you put it "in stone", the easier it is to prepare for, and having great sessions up and listed early will only help draw in more attendees. Register Now for DrupalCampNH 2011, and get your session submitted today!!

Consider yourself empowered!
One of my favorite sessions was presented by someone new to Drupal. They discussed everything they did wrong the first time through and included the screenshots to prove it! It was a humorous look at 'what not to do' and provided some good information to people who would soon be tackling the same challenges. That being said, I really encourage you all to share your experiences and teach us what you know. We all have something to contribute.
thanks for the empowerment!
Absolutely the best part of these camps is hearing what others are doing and have done. How you solved a problem. And what we can learn from each other.
Can't wait...
