Design, UX and Theming

This track focuses on the development and implementation of design, interaction, usability, accessibility and navigation, from the most basic design ideas of layout and user experience ideas to technical knowledge of CSS. Equal focus lies on the tools used to bring all of this together into a Drupal site as well as on teaching basic HTML/CSS knowledge to newcomers.

Implementing Web Analytics & Testing Tools & Measuring Usability

We all know web analytics is one of the best ways to measure marketing effectiveness, and most of us are using analytics to measure the impact of paid search, social media, PR, and advertising. What fewer of us are doing are using the same tools to identify issues with usability, including issues that impact the bottom line. For instance, analytics tools can help you identify issues with placement of checkout buttons, calls to action, donation forms, pricing info, and more.

Theming 101 - Intro to drupal 7 theming

What the heck is a theme?
Base theme or sub-theme?
Template override huh?
What's a theme.info file?
Where do I put my CSS files?
I have some Photoshop files, now what?

If you've ever asked any of those question then this session is for you.

Targeted at the Drupal theming newbie who has basic html and css experience, this session will walk you through what a theme architecture looks like, as well as how to configure your own sub-theme from today's major base themes. (Omega, Zen, Fusion).

jQuery Mobile

As smart mobile phones are all over the place, the need for mobile web pages rises. Building a mobile web page is different in many ways then building a “normal” web page.
To help us, smart people have developed a unified user interface system across all popular mobile device platforms, built on the rock-solid jQuery and jQuery UI foundation.

Yes, it’s jQuery Mobile.

Let me show you how easy it is to integrate it into your Drupal site.
